Aryana Mendez (Ella Cruz) is already feeling depressed of the situation she is in. So she had decided to go to the beach and have a swim. When she was already in the water, her mother, Ofelia Mendez (Pokwang) reminded her not to go too far. Aryana told her mother that she will not put herself to harm. She knows that because of her constant reminders. While Aryana was swimming, she thinks of her recent experiences. She could not understand why her mother had become so much protective of her. She remembered how her mother tries to let her stay away from her best friend, Elizabeth "Bebet" Teves (Eunice Lunsad). When her father, Victor Mendez (Tonton Gutierrez) visited her, her mother Ofelia did not let him stay longer. What hurts her more is that mother Ofelia told her that she is not a normal kid anymore. She is not like her friends. So she should forget them and should not try to get close with them anymore. When Aryana went above the water, she was surprised to see fishermen. She tried to go away but one fisherman saw her tail. He thought that it was big fish. He immediately throws their anchor on her. Aryana’s forehead was hit.
